About Us
Private Wings is an owner-managed airline with headquarter in Berlin-Schoenefeld. The majority of the fleet and the company’s own maintenance operations are based at Ingolstadt-Manching Airport. Private Wings was founded in 1991 and started with ambulance flights, but the demand for customised flight solutions increased quickly. Charter flights for event and sports customers as well as corporate shuttles have become priority.
We are very pleased to have been connecting the production sides of the Volkswagen Group for many years. We operate a fleet of nine Dornier 328 turboprops and a Beech 1900D on a daily basis.

Our History
Our company history is closely linked to the division of Germany. Company founder Peter Gatz worked for Malteser Hilfsdienst after training as a paramedic. He quickly recognised the opportunity and founded his own ambulance service and decided to charter aircraft to transport patients quickly.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, aviation law was changed. As a result, Private Wings was established in its current form at the former Berlin Tempelhof Airport in 1991.

We are adding two authorized signatories to our management team as of February 15, 2023. This will strengthen both locations, the administrative office in Berlin-Schoenefeld and the location in Ingolstadt-Manching with focus on Part-145, CAMO and flight operations, with one authorized signatory each..
