Zuverlässige Flüge für Sportmannschaften und Athleten
Is there anything more important for team managers than getting their athletes to games or competitions on time, rested and in their daily routine?
Choosing the right airport, also in terms of possible opening hours and the best logistics for passengers and luggage, makes a huge difference based on our experience.
We know that a mobility solution for teams needs to be flexible, as extra time, interviews and doping tests are difficult to schedule. At the same time, sportspeople also have their very own requirements in terms of catering, discretion and security.
We are also at your side when preparing for play-offs in ice hockey and basketball, where transport solutions often have to be planned flexibly and at very short notice.
Best Practices
Best Practice 1
Requirement: An ice hockey club from the Berlin region wants to travel to a game in the area around Leverkusen.
Requirement: The total travelling time should be as short as possible. After the game, the team should fly home directly.
Solution: The team flies from Schoenhagen, a regional airport south of Berlin, to Essen-Mühlheim. The opening hours of both airports allow for a return journey in the late evening. The conditions at the airports allow for quick boarding.
Best Practice 2
Requirement: A football club from Augsburg is expected to visit a club near Kiel.
Requirement: Travelling the 840 km by team bus does not fit in with the tightly packed time and training schedule, and the players’ rest time also stands in the way. As sponsors are accompanying the team, the journey needs to be quick and discreet.
Solution: The team flies directly from Augsburg Airport to Kiel Airport. Larger aircraft would not be able to fly to either of the two regional airports and would have to fly to Munich and Hamburg. Thus, we are saving time to travel to and from the major airports by bus.
We use two examples to illustrate the advantages of travelling with Private Wings and our Dorniers for teams. We also focus on regional airports that enable shorter journey times to the team hotel or stadium or quick processes. These airports are usually unknown because larger aircraft cannot fly to them. This is precisely the advantage of our 32-seater aircraft. Thanks to its outstanding performance, the Dornier 328 can also operate on shorter runways.
The regional airports offer another decisive advantage: the team bus can usually drive directly onto the apron to the aircraft. This means that the team only need to change from the bus to the aircraft – it couldn’t be quicker, more discreet and convenient for the comfort of the passengers.
